Stockholm born electronic artist and icon Adam Beyer was responsible for one of the most pivotal chapters in the history of techno. His releases on Planet Rhythm in the mid 90s and then on his newly formed Drumcode label from 1996 onwards spearheaded a new wave of European techno that changed the scene forever. This new high energy, percussive, rolling
sound literally exploded out of Sweden and caused a revolution across Europe that would change techno forever. What followed was an impressive legacy that continues today. There is no bigger label or brand in Techno than Adam Beyer’s Drumcode and its back catalogue showcases some of the biggest records to emerge from the genre over the last three decades. A DJ first and foremost, life as a producer saw Beyer gradually hone and perfect a sound that would seemingly fill a void within the modern electronic musical landscape. Techno’s roots in North America and Europe are always honoured as Drumcode has always
delivered a consistent modernism that appeals to new fans and old alike. Adam’s mantra has remained a relatively simple one: Respect the sound, maintain its integrity but push things forward.
