Age: Old enough to know better.
Background: Got a past that is catching up with me. Music has always been a passion of mine and a way to escape the 9 to 5 routine of day jobs in management development, education, training, recruitment and counseling.
Music literally is the soundtrack to my life as each track brings back so many memories.
My love of radio: Got involved in radio in 2008 as a volunteer with hospital radio. Achieved 4 gongs during my time with the station for producing The Solid Gold Juke Box. Music from the 70s, 80s and edge of those decades as well. Won Best UK Newcomer with the Hospital Broadcasting Association and three gongs in the category Best Female Presenter. (And no, it wasn’t because the listener was too tired to turn me off!). Since leaving hospital radio I have taken that show to two online radio stations. When not on air I enjoy voice over work and radio show production including making promos and jingles.
Memories of all things dance. Nightclubbing with Mick Hucknall (who lived next door to my boyfriend when I got my first job in Manchester). Lucky enough to have visited the Hacienda and Rotters in Manchester. Met Peter Stringfellow and his sister Coral and enjoyed free model pass entry to his night clubs in London and Manchester.
So excited to be bringing a new show to LDC Radio, The Audio File. Sharing that love of music, memories and sounds from the 80s through to the present day.
