Evasive Records
Est. 1999 · UK · Tech House / Underground House

Founded in 1999 by producer and DJ Rob Pearson, Evasive Records has

become a quietly essential force in the landscape of UK underground dance music.

Launched at a time when vinyl culture thrived and tech house was defining its own

identity, the label quickly found its place—not by chasing hype, but by forging its

own path through the deeper, more hypnotic corners of the dancefloor.

Evasive emerged with a clear vision: to release honest, uncompromising club music

rooted in groove, bass, and atmosphere. Early 12”s from artists like Lovable

Rogues, Rob & Si, The Inhabitants, Tony Thomas, Nathan Coles,

Mastiksoul, Corrie, and Loopity Goofs captured that ethos—tracks that

weren’t concerned with chart positions or marketing angles, but with function, feel,

and finesse. The label’s output became a staple for selectors who valued subtlety

over spectacle, and depth over throwaway hype.

While the industry shifted around it—through the vinyl crash, the rise of digital

platforms, and the streaming era—Evasive stayed rooted. It never diluted its sound,

never pivoted to fit the latest algorithmic flavour. Instead, it quietly kept doing what it

had always done: releasing high-quality underground music with long shelf life and

lasting impact. Now, more than two decades in, Evasive is enjoying a carefully

considered renaissance.

A vinyl repress series in partnership with Subwax Bcn has reintroduced key

cuts from the label’s vaults to a new wave of DJs and collectors, while a

revitalised digital arm is providing space for fresh material from a new

generation of artists. Recent releases from Ste Roberts, Bosko Balos, Paul

Donton, Jake Beautyman, and MYR & Taylor speak to the label’s enduring

relevance—bridging eras without ever diluting its DNA.

What makes Evasive distinctive is its refusal to posture. There’s no flash branding

or forced narratives here—just finely crafted music that holds its own in the mix, in

the moment, and in the memory. Its mantra remains intact: true house music,

no boundaries, no egos. Not exclusionary, but open. Not trend-driven, but

timeless. A home for artists and dancers who care more about the music than the

metrics.

As Evasive enters its third decade, it stands not just as a survivor of changing tides,

but as a standard-bearer of underground culture
