In a bit of a bittersweet update for the local community, the organisers of Live at Leeds have announced the festival will take a break this year.

Both “In the City” and “In the Park” will be taking a breather in 2026. While we’ll miss the usual bank holiday mayhem, the team has stated that the pause is essential to ensure they come back “bigger and better” for their massive 20th Anniversary in 2027.

The organisers emphasized that they remain fully committed to supporting the Leeds independent business circuit and emerging talent during the hiatus. In the meantime, the community is encouraged to support our smaller grassroots venues—like The Wardrobe, Brudenell, and Hyde Park Book Club—who will be picking up the slack with a packed schedule of independent gigs all summer long.

  • The Silver Lining: 2027 is already being teased as the biggest celebration of Leeds music ever staged.
  • Keep Supporting: Check out the “Independent Venue Week” archives on the LDC site for a list of local spots that need your footfall this month!
