A new radio station launches the week in Leeds and will the the first FM station dedicated to dance and underground music since Kiss 105 in 1997.

Leeds Dance Community Radio Ltd – aka LDC Radio – feature high-profile DJs including Leeds’ own Tom Zanetti and Carl Kingston presenting shows along with local artists at the forefront of the city’s music scene.

Launched in collaboration with Leeds Beckett University, it will feature music genres including House, Garage, Bassline, DnB, RnB, and Northern Soul as well as a daily schedule of news, upcoming events, travel updates.

Organisers say they wanted to set up a 24/7 public service broadcast service “specific to the community it serves” to celebrate the racial and cultural diversity of Leeds and hope it will give ethnic minority groups a voice while also helping to unearth the best local talent…
