PPC & Google Ads

PPC and Google Ads management in Leeds

PPC in Leeds pays off when three things line up: the right searches, an advert worth clicking and a page that turns the click into a call. LDC runs Google Ads and paid social for Leeds businesses, builds the landing pages those adverts point to and broadcasts on 97.8 FM, so all three sit with one team.

Whether you want a new account set up or an old one taken over, we sort the tracking and the page before the budget goes live. Call 07540725926, send us a few lines or start with a free PPC audit.

What’s included in Google Ads management

  • Account build or takeover

A fresh account set up properly, or your existing one reviewed and restructured without losing its history.

  • Keyword and competitor research

The searches your customers really type, the ones to avoid, and what other Leeds advertisers are bidding on.

  • Campaign structure

Campaigns and ad groups split by service and area, so budgets and reports make sense.

  • Ad copy and assets

Headlines, descriptions, call and location assets, and sitelinks written for each service.

  • Location and radius targeting

Adverts shown only where you work, from a few miles around LS postcodes to the whole of West Yorkshire.

  • Negative keywords

A growing list of searches to block, such as jobs, courses or DIY terms, so clicks come from buyers.

  • Conversion tracking

Calls, form sends and bookings measured in Google Ads and GA4, so results are judged on enquiries rather than clicks.

  • Google Search ads

Text adverts at the top of results when someone searches for what you sell, in the moment they want it.

  • Local Services Ads

Google’s pay-per-lead format for some trades. Eligibility is Google’s call, so we check it with you and make no promise.

  • Paid social

Meta adverts across Facebook and Instagram for local reach, and LinkedIn where you sell to other businesses.

  • Remarketing

Reminders shown to people who visited but didn’t get in touch.

  • Plain-English reporting

What you spent, what it produced and what happens next, without a wall of jargon.

Free PPC audit

If you already run ads, the easiest first step is a free audit of your account, with no cost and no obligation to carry on. It shows where the money goes today and what we would change first.

Paid media covers Google, Microsoft Ads, Meta and more, working with LDC’s digital partner Intrinsic. What the audit looks at is set out on our advertising page. Never advertised before? Say so, and we’ll talk through what a first campaign would need instead.

How we run your ads

  1. Talk and audit

A short call about your services, your area and what a good lead looks like, then a look at any account you already have.

  2. Fix tracking first

Calls, forms and bookings are measured before a penny of budget is spent, so every decision after launch rests on real data.

  3. Check or build the landing page

Each campaign points at a page that matches the search, loads quickly on a phone and makes the next step obvious.

  4. Launch small

We start with the tightest, most likely searches and a sensible daily budget, then widen once we can see what converts.

  5. Weekly tuning

Search terms, bids, times of day and locations are checked every week, and anything wasting money gets cut.

  6. Monthly review

A plain-English summary of what was spent, what came in and what we’re changing next, with time to talk it through.

The ad is only half the job

An advert can only win the click; the page behind it has to win the enquiry. Send paid visitors to a slow homepage and you pay for every one, whether they call or not.

Because LDC builds websites, we can fix the page as well as the advert: check your existing pages, tighten them or design new ones with one clear offer, a tap-to-call button and a short form.

We set up tracking before any spend, so each call and form is counted from the first day. Where enquiries need to go further than an inbox, into a CRM or a job list, we build that side too, as bespoke software.

PPC with radio and SEO

Search ads work hardest as part of a plan, catching demand that other activity has already created. Someone hears your name on the radio, searches for it later, and your advert and page are there to meet them.

LDC broadcasts on 97.8 FM, licensed for the City of Leeds, with DAB in Leeds & Bradford, so one message can run on air, in paid social and in search. We plan it as one campaign; we won’t quote uplift figures we can’t show you. See how radio advertising works.

PPC also buys time while organic search builds. Adverts show as soon as a campaign is approved, while SEO takes months, so many businesses run both and shift the balance once organic enquiries start to arrive.

What affects the cost of PPC

Paid search always has two budgets: the ad spend that goes to Google, Microsoft or Meta, and the fee for managing it. Any quote from us shows the two separately. These are the things that move both.

  • How competitive your keywords are

Common trades in Leeds attract many advertisers, which pushes up the price of each click.

  • Your radius

A tight area around one postcode costs less to cover than the whole of West Yorkshire.

  • Services and campaigns

Five services, each with its own adverts and page, take more work than one.

  • Platforms

Google alone is simpler to run than Google plus Microsoft Ads, Meta and LinkedIn.

  • Tracking and pages to build

If calls aren’t tracked or the landing page needs work, that comes first and is part of the price.

  • What a lead is worth to you

A job worth thousands can justify dearer clicks than a small one-off, and that shapes the budget we suggest.

We quote after a short call, once we know your trade, your area and what you want from it. Ring 07540725926 or use the form below.

How soon you’ll see enquiries

Adverts can start showing soon after Google approves them, so the first clicks often arrive within days of launch. That part is fast.

Steady, affordable enquiries take a little longer. The first weeks are a learning period: we see which searches, times and places bring real leads, and cut the rest. We won’t promise a number of leads by a date, but we’ll show you what the data says at every step.

What to have ready

  • Access to your Google Ads account and Meta Business Manager, if you have them, plus GA4 and Search Console.
  • A list of the services you want more of, and the towns or postcodes you’ll travel to.
  • Roughly what a typical job is worth, so we know how much a lead can sensibly cost.
  • The hours someone answers the phone, so adverts with a call button only run when calls get picked up.
  • Real photos (jobs, people, premises) for adverts and landing pages.
  • Any past campaign data or reports, even from a campaign that didn’t work.

Where the clicks would land

An advert needs somewhere good to send people. These are live sites we built to turn visitors into enquiries; open one and judge it as the page behind an advert.

Paddick Engineering homepage on a desktop screen

Civil and structural engineering, Yorkshire

Paddick Engineering

With 19 separate service pages, a search campaign here could give every ad group its own precise landing page, from structural calculations to drainage design. Its quote form captures the service, the site postcode and what the project involves, so a click from an advert would arrive as an enquiry an engineer can price.

Planning Insights homepage on a desktop screen

UK planning application data (subscription service)

Planning Insights

A subscription product needs a page that sells and signs up in one visit. Planning Insights has a three-tier pricing table, WooCommerce checkout and a homepage enquiry form that makes each lead pick the service it wants, which is exactly the tagging a paid campaign’s reporting can use.

LDC Radio homepage on a desktop screen

Community radio station, Leeds (97.8 FM, DAB, online)

LDC Radio

Our own site puts radio and web side by side: a live player and on-air strip on every page, a Message the studio button, and advertising and DJ hire enquiry pages built in. It shows what a listener who hears an advert on 97.8 FM could land on next.

Questions

PPC Leeds questions

How much should I spend on Google Ads each month?

There’s no single right figure, and anyone who names one before looking at your trade is guessing. It depends on what a click costs for your services in Leeds, how many enquiries you want and what each job is worth. We usually suggest starting with a modest daily budget, measuring what it produces and raising it when the numbers justify it. The spend itself is paid to Google, and our quote lists it apart from our own fee.

How quickly will PPC bring in enquiries?

Adverts can go live soon after Google approves them, so clicks can start almost straight away. Turning those clicks into a steady flow of affordable enquiries takes longer, because the first weeks show which searches, areas and times of day bring real work. Nobody can honestly promise a number of leads by a set date, and we won’t, but you’ll see the data as it builds.

PPC or SEO: which should come first?

If you need calls this month, PPC is quicker, because adverts show as soon as a campaign is live. SEO takes months to build but keeps working when you stop paying for clicks. Plenty of businesses do both: ads to cover the gap while SEO builds underneath. Tell us your budget and your trade and we’ll say honestly which one should lead.

Do you offer a free PPC audit?

Yes. If you already advertise on Google or Meta, we’ll look over the account for free, with no obligation to go ahead. You’ll get a clear view of how it’s set up, whether enquiries are being tracked and where the budget may be leaking. The details sit on our advertising page, or just mention it when you call.

Who actually runs the ads?

Paid media is delivered with Intrinsic, the digital marketing agency that has partnered with LDC Radio, and between us we cover Google, Microsoft Ads, Meta and more. LDC builds the landing pages and tracking, and can put radio airtime behind the same campaign. Before anything starts, we’ll explain who does what on your account.

Is Google Ads worth it for a local trade?

Often, yes. People searching for a trade usually want someone soon, and an advert puts your number in front of them at that moment. It works best when your service area is clear, the phone gets answered and the landing page makes booking easy. Where clicks in Leeds are expensive for your trade, we’ll tell you plainly whether the numbers are likely to add up before you spend.

What are Google Local Services Ads?

Local Services Ads are a Google format for certain trades and services, shown above the usual results in some local searches. You pay per lead rather than per click. Whether a business qualifies is Google’s decision, based on its own checks and on which categories it runs in your area. We can look at eligibility with you, but we can’t promise Google will approve you.
