Digital marketing

Digital marketing for Leeds businesses: search, social and radio from one team

LDC does digital marketing in Leeds for businesses that want more calls, bookings and enquiries, not just more likes. We plan search, Google Ads, social media and radio together, and because we also build websites, the pages your campaigns point to are part of the job rather than someone else’s problem.

We’re a digital agency that also runs a Leeds radio station, with our registered office on Mabgate in LS9, working with businesses across Leeds and West Yorkshire; if you cover more of the county, see digital marketing across Yorkshire.

What digital marketing with LDC includes

It includes the channels a Leeds business actually needs, picked for your goals rather than sold as a bundle. You rarely need all six.

SEO and local SEO

Search engine optimisation puts your business in front of people already looking for what you do. For a Leeds business that usually starts with Google Business Profile, the map results and service pages that answer real questions. More on SEO in Leeds.

Google Ads and PPC

Paid search shows your advert to people typing chosen searches in chosen postcodes, from the day a campaign goes live. You pay per click, so knowing which clicks become enquiries matters more than the click count. How we run Google Ads.

Social media and paid social

Regular posting keeps your business looking alive to people who already know you. Paid social on Meta and similar platforms reaches new people by area and interest, and works best with creative made for a phone screen.

Content and email

Useful guides, answers to common questions and write-ups of real jobs give search engines something to understand and customers a reason to trust you. Email keeps past customers and warm leads close, for the cost of writing something worth opening.

Radio and audio

LDC broadcasts on 97.8 FM, licensed for the City of Leeds, with DAB in Leeds & Bradford, and you can listen online, on the app and on Alexa. That means a radio campaign can sit inside a digital plan rather than beside it. A step-by-step guide to planning airtime.

Website fixes and conversion tracking

Marketing that sends people to a slow page or a broken form wastes the budget. We fix the pages, set up call and form tracking, and make sure every enquiry can be traced to where it came from. Web design in Leeds.

Why a radio station does digital marketing

Because the two work better together, and we sit on both sides. Plenty of agencies run Google Ads, and radio stations sell airtime. We can plan both as one campaign, write the advert, build the page it points to and look at what happens next.

Here’s how that can play out. A listener hears your name on air while driving across Leeds. They don’t write down a web address; later that day they search for you on their phone. If a page built for that search is waiting, with your offer, a click-to-call button and a short form, the mention has somewhere to land instead of fading.

The social advert, the search campaign and the radio script carry one message, so people recognise you wherever they meet you. If a booking tool or lead tracker is needed behind the scenes, we can build that too.

How we plan and run it

Nothing launches until tracking is in place, so the results can be read honestly.

  1. Call

A short call about your products, your customers, the area you cover and what a good month looks like. Ring 07540725926 or use the form further down.

  2. Audit

We check your website, Google Business Profile and any existing ad accounts, looking for quick fixes as well as bigger gaps.

  3. Plan the channels and the budget split

You get a plan that says which channels to use, why, and how the money divides between them, with ad spend on its own line.

  4. Build and launch

Pages, tracking, ads and airtime go live together, so the first enquiries are measured from day one.

  5. Monthly review

Each month we look at what came in, from where and at what cost, then move money towards what’s working. There are no ranking guarantees at any stage.

What affects the cost

There’s no fixed package price, because two Leeds businesses rarely need the same mix. Six things shape what yours will cost.

  • Which channels

One channel run well costs less than four run at once. Starting narrow and adding more once the first is working is often the better use of money.

  • Ad spend

Money paid to Google, Meta or for radio airtime is separate from the cost of managing it. We show the two apart so you can see where every pound goes.

  • How competitive your trade is

A plumber, solicitor or estate agent in Leeds competes with far more businesses than a niche specialist does, which affects both ad costs and how much SEO work is needed.

  • Website work needed first

If the site is slow, awkward on a phone or missing key pages, fixing it before spending on ads usually saves money later.

  • Content and photos

Words, photos and video take time. Supplying some yourself keeps costs down; having us write and source everything is simpler but costs more.

  • Reporting

A short monthly summary is simple. Reports broken down by service, area or call source take longer to set up.

You’ll get a quote once we’ve talked and looked at your current set-up. Call 07540725926 or send the form below and we’ll put a figure on it.

When you’ll see activity

Paid search and radio can run as soon as a campaign is signed off, so activity starts quickly. Whether it turns into enquiries depends on the offer, the page and how fast calls are answered.

Local SEO and Google Business Profile work usually takes months rather than weeks to show movement, and crowded Leeds searches take longer still. We’ll tell you what we expect to see and roughly when, but we never promise results or a date for page 1.

SEO, ads or both?

For most small businesses the honest answer is both, in different amounts at different times. Paid ads bring enquiries quickly but stop the day you stop paying. SEO is slower to start and keeps working after the effort, because the pages and reputation you build stay yours.

  • Start with ads if you need enquiries this month, have a clear offer and can handle the calls.
  • Start with SEO if you can wait a few months, sell something people search for often and want each enquiry to cost less over time.
  • Run both if your trade is crowded in Leeds: ads cover the gap while organic search builds, and the search terms from your ads show which pages are worth writing.
  • Add radio when you want local people to know your name before they need you, so they search for you rather than a generic term.

Before we talk

You don’t need all of this for a first call. Whatever you can gather speeds things up.

  • Access to your Google Business Profile, Search Console and Analytics, or the name of whoever holds it.
  • Logins or view access for any Google Ads or Meta ad accounts you’ve used.
  • Your best services, and which ones make the most margin.
  • A description of a good lead: the kind of job or customer you want more of.
  • A rough monthly budget, including anything you’d spend on ads.
  • Anything you’ve tried before, and what did or didn’t work.

Work you can check for yourself

We built every one of these live sites. Each is designed to turn a visitor’s attention into contact, which is where any marketing budget pays off or doesn’t. See the full case studies.

Paddick Engineering homepage on a desktop screen

Civil and structural engineering, Yorkshire

Paddick Engineering

Every route on paddick.online leads towards a quote. Its quote form gathers the type of work, where the site is and what the job involves, which gives an engineer enough to reply properly. The phone number is one tap away at the top and bottom of each page, and a free drainage falls calculator gives people a reason to arrive before they’re ready to buy.

LDC Radio homepage on a desktop screen

Community radio station, Leeds (97.8 FM, DAB, online)

LDC Radio

On ldcradio.co.uk the main action is simple: press play. The live player sits on every page beside an ‘on air now, up next’ strip. Around it, a newsletter sign-up, a ‘Message the studio’ button and a DJ hire enquiry form give listeners other ways to get in touch.

Planning Insights homepage on a desktop screen

UK planning application data (subscription service)

Planning Insights

Planning Insights turns interest into subscriptions. A pricing table and a four-step ‘how it works’ section explain the offer, checkout and customer accounts are built in, and the enquiry form makes people pick a service before sending. A newsletter sign-up in the footer catches visitors who aren’t ready yet.

Questions

Digital marketing Leeds questions

What does a digital marketing agency actually do?

It plans and runs the ways customers find you online: search engine optimisation, paid ads on Google and social media, content, email and the tracking that shows which of them works. With LDC that can include radio on 97.8 FM and fixing the website itself, so the work isn’t split between several suppliers.

Is ad spend included in your fee?

No. Ad spend goes to Google, Meta or the radio airtime itself, and any quote shows it separately from the cost of our work. That way you can see exactly what reaches the platforms and what pays for planning, writing, building and managing the campaign. You decide the ad budget, and we’ll say plainly if we think it’s too small to test properly.

Should a small business start with SEO or paid ads?

If you need enquiries soon and have a clear offer, start with paid ads and make sure the landing page is ready first. If you can wait, SEO builds something that keeps working after the effort stops. Plenty of small businesses do a little of both: ads to cover the next few months, SEO for the longer run. See SEO, ads or both above.

Should I replace my website before any marketing starts?

Not always. If your site loads quickly, works on a phone and makes it easy to call or send an enquiry, we can start marketing it straight away and fix smaller things as we go. If it’s slow, out of date or hard to use, spending on ads first usually wastes money. We’ll tell you which applies after the audit.

Can radio be part of a digital campaign?

Yes, and that’s where LDC is different: we’re a radio station as well as a digital team. Adverts or sponsorship on LDC Radio are planned alongside search and social, so people who hear the message can find you straight away. The advertise page has the full offer and audience figures.

Agency or in-house: which is better?

It depends on your size and how much there is to do. An in-house marketer knows your business closely but can’t be expert in every channel, and costs a salary every month. An agency brings several skills for less than a full team, but needs a clear brief and regular contact. Some businesses use both: someone in-house, with us handling the specialist work.
